In 2010, only 44 per cent of 18-24 year olds voted in the General Election, in comparison to almost 80% of over 65s.
We are encouraging all students to register to vote for the General Election in May 2015.
Do you know what policies will end up affecting you in the future? It's important that you get clued up on what policies the major parties are proposing, and how they will impact on you. A great way to discover more is through voteforpolicies.org.uk, a non-biased and transparent resource that pulls out the key points from all the parties' manifestos.
You can register at both your term-time and Home address using this link, www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you don't register before the deadline of April 20th, you will be at risk of being fined £80. For more information, visit this website.
If you're an International student and are unsure about whether you're eligible to vote, click here to see the list of countries that can take part.
