What is Brighton Students’ Union?

We are the official students’ union for the University of Brighton. We’re here to ensure you have an amazing time whilst you study, and to represent your views and experience to the University.

Am I a member of Brighton Students’ Union?

Yes – as soon as you enrol with the University, you are a member of the BSU.

Do I have to pay to be a member of Brighton Students’ Union?

No, membership of the BSU is totally FREE but you might need to pay for some events or activities throughout the year depending on how you choose to get involved.

Do I need to buy a Freshtival wristband to attend day-time events?

No, you don’t need a wristband for day-time events but you might need to book a FREE ticket, so make sure you check the event listing.

I’ve seen another wristband for sale, should I buy that one as well?

We sell the only official University of Brighton Freshtival wristband. We would not recommend you purchase any wristbands being offered by third party sellers as these are not affiliated with us or the University.

How can I collect my wristband?

We will announce the wristband collection points in due time. Come back to this page and keep an eye on our socials for further updates!

Can I enter Freshtival events without a wristband?

Yes, you'll be able to get tickets at the door on the night of the event, but they will be more expensive, so getting your wristband lets you save money.

Where can I find Brighton Students’ Union?

We have a presence on every Brighton campus – here you can find a list of all our shops and cafes. We also have an office on every campus where our staff will welcome you with any enquiries or comments. You can reach us on our social media channels where we'll always strive to get back to you as soon as we can.

What Freshtival events can I attend if I'm under 18 years old?

You're welcome to attend our daytime programme of Give It A Go activities and Societies welcome events, as well as our evenings with games and music at the Venue. However, our nightclub parties are for 18+ year olds only, so please do not buy the wristband. This is in line with the entry requirements for the venues we're using.
