CHLAMYDIA CLUB CHALLENGE

Chlamydia Club Challenge is a chance for societies and sports teams to screen for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea as a group, as well as getting entered into a prize draw to win £100 for the society or team. There will also be goodies for you to take as well – usually sweets and condoms!

We will agree a suitable time to meet with you, such as before a training session or during a social, and the CaSH Action Team will come along and explain how the tests work, giving them to people who wish to do one.

Please email sexualhealth@brighton.ac.uk if you are interested in taking part and we can get you booked in.

FAQ's

They are really quick, easy self-tests that you do in the bathroom. If you have a penis, you need to pee in a pot, and if you have a vagina it is a very small vaginal swab (about the size of a cotton bud). We then send these off and you get your results in around 2 to 3 weeks.
You will usually receive a call to arrange to visit a local sexual health clinic, and the treatment is really easy – a short course of antibiotics.
The results from your test are completely confidential – no one else will receive them other than you! You should receive your results by text message between 2 and 3 weeks after you test.
People only have to test if they want to! We advise getting tested annually or every time you change sexual partners, but it is completely voluntary. For each person that does test, the team or society will be nominated for the chance to win £100, so the more of you that do it, there more of a chance you have of winning!
We run this campaign to raise awareness the Campus based drop-ins and what the CaSH Action Team does, and to encourage as many people as possible to screen for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. Because there are so many teams and societies, this is a great way to do this! We give away £100 just to make it a bit more fun for you. We know how important funding is!
We understand that some teams/societies are bigger than others, so we encourage your friends to take part too! They can come along and screen with you when we all meet up, or they can come to one of our campus drop-ins and do a Chlamydia test there. Once they have done so, they can mention which team or society they would like to nominate.
We will be pulling the winning team or society out of a hat at the end of term 2, and we will contact you if you have won!
