Mood Boost: a fresh approach to wellbeing run by students for students
This course will help you manage your anxiety, stress and low mood, and connect with other students in a safe, caring and inclusive space. Runs over four consecutive Wednesday afternoons.
It might seem like everyone around you is having a good time at university. But many students, at some point or another, find themselves feeling stressed, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, isolated or lonely. You’re definitely not the only one to feel like this.
Our free wellbeing course, Mood Boost, will teach you techniques to help you manage your mental health. You’ll be able to share your experiences in a safe, caring and supportive space. By the end of the course, you will be better able to take responsibility for your wellbeing and will have gained valuable life skills.
Students who participate say they feel a sense of belonging and community. They also feel more comfortable talking about their mental health issues.
Mood Boost sessions are based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques and are led by students who receive training and supervision from a counsellor from the Counselling & Wellbeing Service. The student-led approach is helpful because students can speak freely to each other and relate well to what other students are going through.
Dates: Falmer course starts on 14th November.
