Salary

Full time salary - £22,333 per annum (pro rata). Actual salary - £6,185 based on the number of working hours per week and working weeks over the year.

Hours

13.00 per week. Working 35 weeks per annum (31 weeks during Term Time & 4 weeks outside of Term Time). The hours will be 0900 - 1600 hours working over 2 days - any combination of Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Brighton Students' Union is an independent, dynamic not-for-profit charity.  Our aim is to make student life better for all students studying at the University of Brighton and our Partner Colleges, which we do through the provision of excellent services, facilities, support, representation and events. 

We are currently looking for a College Organiser to work at the Northbrook College campus which is located on the Littlehampton Road on the outskirts of Worthing.  This is a customer facing role where you will directly be helping students and be involved in diverse and engaging tasks.

The Role
To support the Partner Colleges Coordinator in delivery the specific needs of the College.  Engaging with students individually and collectively on a range of areas including societies, events, campaigns and health and wellbeing activities.  The role will also provide front line support on areas such as representation and advocacy.

The Hours
This is a part time position working 0900 to 1600 hours, 2 days a week during term time only.  Days of working will be agreed with the successful candidate but flexibility will be required as some weekend/evening working may be needed.

The Person
Alongside experience of working in a similar role, the successful candidate will need to have fantastic communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of people.  They will also need to be extremely enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to providing an excellent service to our students. 

The Skills
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience of:-

  • Organising, promoting, delivering and assessing campaigns and events
  • Supporting volunteers in delivering their aims
  • Writing engaging content
  • Providing first class customer care in service
  • Excellent IT skills
