How would you boost employability for Brighton students?

-Working with the employability and well-being department team to provide more part-time jobs and volunteering opportunities for the students.

-I will guarantee more employability workshops are hosted for the students.

-I will organise more networking events where students can connect with employers, alumni, and professionals in their field of interest.

-Gather feedback from the students, employers and alumni to refine programs and opportunities.

-Engage alumni as mentors, guest speakers, and career advisors to provide guidance and insights to current students.

-Provide resources and support for students interested in entrepreneurship and starting their businesses.

How would you improve the experience in societies and student media? 

-I will establish committee drop-in sessions to check in get feedback and implement ideas to make the running of societies smoother.

-Ensuring that societies and student media have access to necessary resources, including funding, equipment, meeting spaces, and technical support.

-I will encourage the creation of new societies and media channels that reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of the students.

-Establish collaboration between the campus organisations/societies, academic departments, or student groups to produce projects and increase cross-campus engagement.

-Offer regular workshops and seminars on writing, editing, photography, design, social media management, and other relevant skills for society members and student journalists and create a schedule allowing them to showcase these skills.

What skills or expertise do you have that would make you suitable for the role?

-Communication skills: My experience as a course representative, voicing the concerns of my peers and conveying feedback, has equipped me to effectively advocate for and address the needs of society members and sports teams as an Activities Officer.

-Event Planning and Management: Experience in organising events within societies, including BLW, has sharpened my event planning and management skills.

-Public Speaking and Presentation Skills: As a student recruitment ambassador, I've enhanced my public speaking and presentation skills, engaging effectively with diverse audiences when giving speeches.

-Being in the ACS football team and BLW and as a student recruitment ambassador would mean I have a lot of experience working in a team.

-Developed problem-solving skills as a course representative.
