A little about me:
I’m currently studying part-time as a Masters's Student, but previously did my undergraduate at the University of Brighton in War & Conflict. Throughout my studies I had been engaged with student politics, leading a successful occupation of G4 in Grand Parade for five days straight back in 2019, as well as organising multiple Student-Staff Solidarity Events throughout my undergrad.
For the last 2 years I have stood as our society’s Finance Officer, as well as running multiple sessions and organising for the society to link up with other Socialist Student branches nationally, as well as forge links with Brighton & Hove Trades Council.
I also identify as non-binary (They/Them) and am a GMB Union Representative in my workplace.
What will I do:
As President, I will continue to build on the radical manifesto we proposed, as well as push the SU to support and represent students. I also wish to continue to lobby the University on a number of different issues. I would also challenge the University on its policies toward activism on campus, which in the current iteration, students cannot protest on campus.
