Hey everyone!
Jared here. I’m applying for Anime Club Society President for next year, so I thought it best to give in a little pitch for myself. If you attend the club regularly, you may have run into me before; I’ve been attending pretty much every session I could feasibly go to since the start of the academic year in September. I very much am a dedicated member of the society, and as President I would apply that dedication to the role. I’ve hosted clubs and societies before, including running a Dungeons and Dragons club in my sixth form for over two years, as well as running a student council at the same time. As Club President, I would make sure to come up with and host consistent sessions that would be warm and welcoming for all involved. I have a big personality, that much is true, but I can use that to my advantage to help people have fun and feel welcomed. I have experience hosting events and helping people individually, so I have the skill set to interact with people in both group and individual settings and make sure they feel safe and enjoy themselves. I have a huge passion for anime, with over 400 logged entries on MAL, and over 200 manga entries. It’s been a lifelong interest of mine, and one that I am more than happy to share with others, coming up with anime-themed events (as seen in my Pitch Your Own Anime Challenge hosted in Feb 2023) and watch parties, which I have hosted with friends before and I am sure I can in larger group settings as well. My work experiences also helped me learn how to manage money and budget, how to timetable and prepare activities, and how to cooperate with others on room allotment. Above all though, I just really want to do this. Part of what drew me to Brighton Uni was seeing this society on the Student Union website, and if you guys will allow, I would love for the opportunity to be its President. You won’t regret it.
Thanks for your consideration,
Jared
