How would you make student life better?

Making student life better is at the heart of my campaign. As President I will:
- Focus on maintaining and improving the BSU Pantry in order to provide students with the best possible access to much needed resources.
- Campaign for free sanitary products on all campus.
- Lobby local government for better housing prices and conditions for students.
- Push for higher maintenance loan for students living in Brighton.
- Advocate for students’ academic needs including extra costs and lecture capture.
- Represent every student at this university equally and ensure your experience during your studies is as pleasant and rewarding as it can be.
- Go that extra mile to improve student life.

How would you represent the views of 18,000 students at the University of Brighton?

As President, I would make sure every single student at this University has a voice. This will be achieved by:
- Efficiently communicating with students from all campi and schools.
- Utilizing the outstanding network of course reps and super reps to bring accurate and meaningful feedback to address issues from every school, course and module.
- Actively listening to concerns coming from students no matter what the issue or the reason.
- Working every day to improve communication between students, academics and staff so that feedback is being appropriately actioned upon and that students’ needs are being catered for.
- Engaging with student societies and socials, learning more about the variety of cultures present on campus.

What skills or expertise do you have that would make you suitable for the role?

- I am currently the Education officer, which has allowed me to push for the students’ needs at the very heart of the institution, with results including more than 200 students receiving general mitigation for their modules due to issues they faced.
- I was committee of two successful societies, one of which won the Society of the Year Award in 2022 (BioSoc). This allowed me to further improve communication and managing skills.
- I am extremely approachable, engaging with students is my favourite part of the day.
- I was a course rep throughout my entire university experience, which included representing my cohort during the challenges of the pandemic right from the beginning, a task that was complex but motivated me to further pursue student representation.
