Candidate for the position of African Caribbean Society (ACS) - President

Princess-Zaneta Emuchay

Why vote for me

The african-caribbean society here at Brighton has a lot of potential but a clear vision is needed. I am passionate about making spaces where people feel included, uplifted and proud of who they are. As a former house captain, I am confident in my ability to lead Brighton ACS with a purpose and a plan. I am an action taker, problem solver and a proven leader who knows how to get results. I believe that real leadership starts with listening, but it is defined by the actions that follow. I will work with our vice president and other committee members to make sure Brighton ACS is seen and is heard.

My heritage shapes the way I carry myself and has taught me resilience, community, and the beauty of culture. I want ACS to reflect that same pride and to be a space where we celebrate where we come from with confidence, joy, and unity. Together, let’s create a society that honours our heritage and passes it on with power.

Key Objectives

  1. A wider variety and more frequent activities outside of clubbing, and for FREE (#acsBall2026)

  2. Celebrate culture and heritage with events that highlight our various music, fashion, food, language and history

  3. Uplift and empower members through alumni mentorship, panel discussion and career focused networking events.

  4. Revive our image through clearer communication, a more organised committee and an engaging social media

  5. Take on feedback through a dedicated suggestion platform, giving you a voice

  6. Ensure stronger representation and more collaborations with other societies and universities

Let's write a new chapter for Brighton ACS together – one where every culture shines and every voice matters. We will build something bigger than ourselves and together, we will rise.
