This event is being held to raise money for the charity MIND. As student nurses, this is a chance for us and fellow nursing students and members from other professions and backgrounds, to show our support for a fantastic charity which serves and supports people at a time when they may be at their most vulnerable.
MIND is a charity that provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
"We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect." - quote from MIND's website
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. MIND believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They will listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner. When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. That's what they do. They empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them through the following:
Our Infoline, which offers callers confidential help for the price of a local call.
Our Legal Line, which provides information on mental health related law to the public, service users, family members/carers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates.
Our award-winning publications and website, now certified by the Information Standard.
To attend the event all we ask is that you make a donation to our Go Fund Me page - https://gf.me/u/zaain7 We would be ever so grateful if you can join us in making a difference as every donation will truly make such a difference.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
