Information on different support services available to you.

advicebullying and harassment

The University lists a range of external organisations here. These include: 

 

Samaritans (Brighton and Hove district)

They offer telephone support for any person who is having suicidal thoughts or experiencing a range of issues which they would like to talk about.

The Saturn Centre - Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)  

Offers free support and practical help to anyone in Sussex who has experienced sexual violence and/or sexual abuse.

Rape Crisis (England & Wales) 

Helpline for women and girls who are survivors of rape, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, or any form of sexual violence.

Mankind UK  

Advice and support for men who have been affected by unwanted sexual experiences. (support - telephone advice, one-to-one counselling and group therapy).

Men’s Advice Line 

Advice and support for men experiencing domestic violence.  

Call: 0808 801 0327 (Monday - Friday 9am-5pm) 

 

National Domestic Violence Helpline    

National service for women experiencing domestic violence, their family, friends, colleagues, and others calling on their behalf – includes online chat service.

Call: 0808 2000 247 (24 hours freephone)  

 

National Stalking Helpline (Run by Suzy Lamplugh Trust) 

If you or someone you know is being made to feel harassed or intimidated by the behaviour of another person. If you are unsure what can be done about this person’s behaviour. If you feel that you, your friend, or family member are at risk of emotional or physical harm from another person.

Refuge  

Run a range of specialist services to help survivors access safety and rebuild their lives. They have culturally specific services and give advice and support in specialist areas including ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage and slavery.

Rise (Brighton and Hove)  

Rise is a Brighton-based charity helping people affected by domestic abuse, service ranges from providing direct advice to refuge accommodation.

Victim Support  

Victim Support for people affected by crime and traumatic incidents.
