Congratulations to the Law Society, who are our Society of the Month for March 2022!
This month, our winners hosted a Film screening and Q&A event - ‘an evening with Mohamedou Ould Salahi’ who is an author, speaker and former Guantanamo detainee.
‘The Mauritianian’ is an empowering film based on the true story of Salahi’s fight for freedom after being wrongfully detained and imprisoned for 14 years by the US government. Guests were emailed beforehand and asked to prepare questions for Salahi and the panellists; author Andy Worthington and convener of the UK Guantanamo Network, Sara Birch.
Prior to the event, guests were offered refreshments and snacks, so there was time for attendees to network and meet professionals in the legal field in a more relaxed setting. We absolutely love entries like this - a multifaceted, well planned and impactful event is a great way to give back to your members!
