A look back & a look forward

It's been an eventful year!

We think it’s fair to say that this academic year has been filled with many testing moments from UCU strikes, to you know what... We’ve seen success stories of so many clubs and societies all set up and maintained by you fantastic lot!

We asked you what some of your favourite moments have been this year, and you delivered! It’s time to take a trip down memory lane as we mentally pop this year into our save files and update for the next academic year. All the following comments have been used with consent from those of you who shared them with us.

“Getting through this year despite strikes & teachers not doing online lessons”
“Finishing my placement”
“Not dropping out and fighting my mental health instead”
“Finishing my dissertation whilst juggling my final major project. Hell, but worth it”
“Going to my 9am lectures”
“Finishing my last year of university regardless of the current situation”
“I preserved with making a poster (would’ve been hand made if not for lockdown) and handed it in today!”
“I almost withdrew from a module option but didn’t give up and am powering through now!”
“Finishing my second year and doing my placement”
“Got laid off, started as a mature student and actually doing ok!”
“Having brain surgery, but managing to return to lectures 2 weeks later”

We felt so inspired by your achievements that we have turned some of these amazing comments into wider stories across our social media. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page for the full stories when available.

Thank you all for another fantastic year at Brighton Students’ Union, we can’t wait to see what you’ll all do next.
