We are thrilled to be able to announce that we have successfully appointed our new Chief Executive Officer. After an extremely competitive process Laura Greenwood-Pearsons has agreed to support our team and take a strategic management role as we continue to redevelop our organisation and champion the student experience.

Laura has worked in education throughout her career, and in Students' Unions since 2002. Working her way up the SU career Iadder from a Membership Services Manager, and then to her first role as a CEO at Canterbury Christ Church SU. Most recently Laura was the CEO of Chester Students' Union for the past 9 years, leading the Union from a period of challenge when she first joined, to an award-winning Union that won SU of the Year at the Educate the North Awards. Laura can be particularly proud of the constant improvement in satisfaction levels of their members, which rose on an annual basis.

Laura has proven to be passionate about the value and purpose of Students' Unions, and is delighted to be joining Brighton SU to work with the officers, Board, staff and our student volunteers towards making the higher education journey as rich and as rewarding as it can be for our student membership (that's you!).

Although officially starting on Monday 6th November, Laura has already started visiting our campuses and attending key meetings and is excited to meet you all in the coming weeks.

We're very excited for Laura to start!
