Here is a little introduction to your new Student Leadership Team 2017-18. We wish you all the best for the next academic year!

Calum 'Smithy' McNally- Union President

Our Union President - commonly known as Smithy due to an uncanny resemblance to James Corden – is an Eastbourne student and Sports Journalism graduate. He’s a keen Rugby player and was the President of the Rugby team during Uni. He’s an approachable, friendly face that you’ll frequently see around campus.

Fun facts about Smithy: Smithy grew up in France and is fluent in French, he’s a massive Disney fan and his go-to karaoke song is Mambo No. 5.

Ebunlomo Azeez- Vice President Academic Experience

Ebun is a Law with Business student and previous to this role was the Business School representative. She has a range of fantastic ideas including a rate my lecturer system and a campaign to get printing credits across all Uob libraries.

Fun facts about Ebun: Ebun enjoys books that are based on Greek mythology. She’s a foodie and loves trying different continental dishes. You’ll often see her around campus wearing blue.

Cat Bach- Vice President Campus Development

Cat, our VP Campus Development graduated last year from International Event Management in Eastbourne. She’s passionate about promoting change around the 5 different campuses, ensuring inclusivity for all students across the University of Brighton and a fair and enjoyable University experience.

Fun facts about Cat: Cat used to be a competitive runner and that her dad used to be a DJ.

Frank Dankwa- Vice President Activities & Participation

Frank is responsible for the activities that happen around the Union – predominately ensuring that you have a fantastic time at University. Frank has been heavily involved in the sports community throughout his time at UoB and is now dedicating his career as VP to delivering a fantastic, fun and inclusive experience to each and every University of Brighton student.

Fun facts about Frank: Przym Wednesday is Frank’s favourite day of the week. He loved every minute playing football at university and often says if he didn’t join the university football team his university experience would be very different. So he encourages all students to join a sport or society as you’ll gain so many new friends and hopefully enhance your university experience. “

Amy Jaiteh- Vice President Welfare & Campaigns

Amy is a Bio-Medical science student, based in Moulsecoomb. She’s just finished her degree and is eager to work with students, improving your wellbeing and ensuring that you have a stress free and happy University experience. Amy strongly believes that we should “enjoy University, not endure it.”

Fun facts about Amy: In her spare time she enjoys volunteering in the community, working with a range of groups including: a Brownie pack, Victim Support and the St Mary Magdalen Soup Run.

Our new full-time officers are excited to meet you all and finding out more about what you’d like to change in the University. Find Smithy, Ebun, Frank, Cat and Amy on Facebook.

11:46am on 19 Jul 17 I think we need to see an example of Mambo No 5. There are a lot of names to remember.
