Society of the Month Runners Up April

We had some amazing entries for April Society of the Month - Check out our very close runners up…

In 2nd Place...

This month saw the arrival of Paramedic’s black tie charity ball! The Paramedics worked with Nursing society to deliver the ball which raised a wonderful £1400 for Air Ambulance Kent and Surry Sussex. This was the first ever black tie event the course has ever had and everyone enjoyed dressing up to the nines and celebrating the achievement of the years they have shared together. The organisation of the event helped to develop communication skills, networking skills and encouraged team work. The ball was overall an opportunity to celebrate together with the cohorts and disciplines that have they have worked together with while also raising a superb amount of awareness and money for their chosen charity, Excellent work Paramedics!

In 3rd place...

Hiking and Tracking Society have been taking in the great outdoors this month while hiking from Moulsecoomb to Falmer through Bevendean. The hike was a great opportunity for the society to socialising use their team work and to learn about nature. The society also did their bit for the environment and incorporated some litter picking into the hike so that other walkers could also enjoy the benefits of the nature around them.

In 4th Place...

Creative Writing Society hosted Strike a Prose, a short story workshop. The members were given a writing prompt which they were then asked to turn into a short story. They then had a sharing session in which members shared their stories with the group while enjoying a few snacks and refreshments. The group learned that sometimes people need a little bit more time and some extra encouragement to share their work with a group, but it’s brilliant when everyone comes together to support each others work and ideas.
