The January 2018 Society of the Month Logo Society of the Month 2018 Runners Up

The last two months have seen some incredible events and activities across Brighton raising money for Charity and giving something back to the hard working students within the Societies!

The Design & Craft Society - 15th December 2017

To raise money for their £10,000 end of year show and to reward the students on their course after a long term, the Design & Craft Society put on a show stopping Christmas event! With live music, DJs and a DIY Las Vegas that took an entire week to construct! The event was a roaring success and helped them towards their final goal!

The Sound of Zion Gospel Choir – 1st December 2017

A wealth of events were organised across Sussex and the City of Brighton and Hove throughout December in order to raise money for the homeless over the winter months! The Sound of Zion performed songs for both Sussex and Brighton University and on the streets and successfully raised money and spirits for the rough sleepers across the city.

The Youth Stop AIDs Society – 4th December 2017

Collaborating with the Musical Theatre Society, the Youth Stop AIDs Society put on a sing-along film showing of the Musical RENT! As well as having fun and the chance to come together the night also raised money for the Missing Medicine Campaign and allowed the students to discuss the issues surrounding HIV/AIDs and what the society does.

The Pool Society – 13th December 2017

As an ongoing collaboration with the Rocking Horse Children’s Charity the Pool Society put on it’s annual Christmas event including a pub quiz, raffle and Pool tournament! With a fantastic turnout and raising £120 for the Rocking Horse, the event was a great way to celebrate Christmas, allow the students to get together and to learn about the great work carried out by the charity the Society closely supports!
