Hey guys,
I have decided to run for president of the Pharmacy Society for 2024/2025!
I’d really love to continue the excellent work that has been done by this year’s committee as well as expanding the society to include more collaborations and events.
I believe the pharmacy society is a vital part of our uni experience as it allows us to come together outside of uni to share our ideas and meet new people.
I will definitely be welcoming suggestions for events from you all but here are some ideas I already have:
- Pharmacy Ball
- Pub quiz (was extremely successful this year)
- Games nights
- Movie nights
- Society collaborations
- Bar crawls/pub golf
- Themed socials
I hope to achieve a society which has an inclusive, community feel. By this I mean meeting new people and spending time with them outside of University and therefore developing new relationships.
I also wish to run a variety of events, some of which will include alcohol and/or a night out but an equal amount that are more chill and don’t involve alcohol. I would absolutely be involving you guys more, listening to your voice about what events you want and what you don’t want.
I’ve been at the university for 5 years this year, including a foundation/preparatory year and a retake of my 2nd year. This has allowed me to understand what students want and to develop a professional relationship with a lot of the staff. I was a course rep in my 1st year (different to most of your 1st year as I retook) so I have a good understanding of how the SU works and how to engage with students to quickly resolve problems or concerns. I will endeavour to be available every day for any concerns, whether it’s personal or to do with the university, as well as to welcome suggestions about how to make the society better!
