Candidate for the position of Law Society - President

JAYDEN YEBOAH

Manifesto for Jayden Yeboah: Candidate for President of the Law Society

My name is Jayden Yeboah, and I am a second year LLB Law student. I am deeply passionate about the law, fuelled by my aspiration to study rigorously and ultimately contribute meaningfully to the legal profession. Beyond law, I am enthusiastic about sports, with a particular love for golf and basketball. Persuing golf competitively over the last six years and playing basketball recreationally whenever I can.

My vision for our Law Society is one of growth and meaningful engagement. I envision a society where each member not only gains valuable academic insights but also experiences personal and professional development. I am committed to ensuring that membership transcends mere CV embellishment and becomes a genuinely enriching experience.

Upholding the law society's values of diversity, inclusivity, and respect is extremely important to me. As President, I pledge to actively listen to every member, valuing their perspectives and ideas. Together, we will foster an environment where every voice is heard, and every suggestion is considered, thereby making our society truly reflective of its membership.

To achieve my vision for the Law Society I propose the following initiatives aimed at the outreach and engagement of members.

Collaborate with local law firms to arrange visits and interactive sessions for members. Providing firsthand exposure to legal professionals and their daily practices, therefore furthering understanding of the legal landscape.

Organise group trips to local courts, allowing members to observe and engage with legal proceedings. Offering the opportunity for members to see firsthand where their degree can take them.

Continuing with the networking events and careers fairs to help members think about and plan for their future after university. And the return of the Law Ball and more social events throughout the year.

Thank you for your consideration, Jayden Yeboah
