Hello everyone, my name is Isabella Calamita and I am applying for the position of VP Social at the Anime Society.
You are most likely already familiar with me due to my less-than-subtle footwear and slightly outspoken nature in the society, I am proud to call myself a regular attendee despite being one of the slightly newer members.
Even though I only joined last year, I have found myself enjoying every second spent at the Society. I have felt incredibly welcome and included so I would be honored for any of you to consider me to be your next VP social as I would love to give back to the community that, in my opinion, has made my time and university thus far worth it. I have so many ideas for the future of the society that I am excited to share such as The Food Wars Challenge, Cosplay Runway, Guess That Opening, and much more!
As VP Social I promise to uphold the values of the society and keep up the warm and welcoming nature of the group. I want to make sure it’s an inclusive space where everyone feels that they have a voice and are heard in our anime community. I’d like to be able to focus on feedback and improvement from said community as I want every event we host to be the best they can possibly be.
VP Social has a lot of responsibilities when it comes to social media. As a cosplayer and artist who has many years of experience in managing multiple different pages, I feel that my knowledge and skills in photo editing, video editing, illustration, and photography will be incredibly beneficial to the society’s presence online. I want our pages to seem professional and engaging with my goal being to spread the word of our community, I think it would be amazing for others to discover our pages and think “That looks like fun, I wish I was there”.
I believe myself to be capable of this and more, so I would greatly appreciate your consideration for this role.
