Equestrian Polo

Welcome to the University of Brighton Polo Team – the most affordable University Polo Team in the UK

We provide accessible, affordable and fun polo for those studying at the University of Brighton.

Even if you aren't able to/don't want to ride and play polo, we also have non-playing Social Members who are welcome to join us at all of the exciting events we have scheduled this year across the Brighton and Eastbourne Campus! A bottle of fizz is never far away though with all of these events open to anyone, feel free to bring friends along and it is a great chance to be part of our Polo Family!

Through the year we compete in both friendly and official tournaments and leagues with the highlight being the SUPA (Schools and Universities Polo Association) tournaments in February and June alongside well over 45 Universities. We also want to hold onto our title as Winners of the South Region throughout this year.

The club trains throughout the year on Wednesday evenings and at weekends in hour long training sessions at FHM Polo (20 mins away from the Brighton Campus) and Hickstead Polo Club (15 minutes from Brighton). The coach is highly trained and well qualified to cater for all levels and abilities from complete beginners through to experienced riders and players and we hold lessons based on experience and ability.

There's no need to own your own pony or to have even sat on a horse, you just need a riding helmet and you're ready to go!

For further information, look at the following websites, add us/send us a message on Facebook and Instagram, or send us an email.

Thank you and we are looking forward to meeting you very soon!

STUDENT CLUB | MEMBER CATEGORY

Costs: £5 a year.

Bronze Off-site members can access personal injury insurance.

Buy your Sports Federation Membership here once you know you are taking part in club activities.

Click here to open our Sports Clubs first session guide. This will detail how to get involved in sports clubs at the University of Brighton. Some first sessions are trials and some are simply an open first session for you to give something a go.

You can take part in as many clubs as you like and can fit in. You only need to buy one membership which should be for the club that  requires the highest category membership. So if you do both a Bronze BUCS and Bronze Off-Site club then you just need a Bronze BUCS card. You only need to buy a membership if you are taking part in a BUCS fixture or you plan to continue to attend after the 31st October (whichever comes first). This gives you a great opportunity to try before you buy. Contact Sport Brighton if you have any questions.
