WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON SURF CLUB PAGE

Have you ever wanted to try surfing? Join us! UBSC is a good-vibes-only, social and fun-loving club that welcomes surfers of all levels - complete beginners, intermediates, and those with more experience. UBSC won the Philanthropy Award at the 2018 Sports Awards and we intend to continue our participation in Surfers Against Sewage's beach cleaning events, as well as organise our own charity events.

The club travels abroad twice each academic year to different surf spots across Europe and Africa for a week of surf! In 2017-18 we initiated the winter holidays in Taghazout, Morocco and our summer in sunny Lourinh, Portugal.

Term-time we hold wet sessions in Brighton where we can choose to paddle-board or go kayaking. On Thursday evenings we get together for socials and a fun night out; a great opportunity to make new friends! Add us on Instagram and Facebook for updates!

For contact: brightonunisurf@gmail.com

Note: UBSC has surfboards that experienced surfers can rent.

Click here to open our Sports Clubs first session guide. This will detail how to get involved in sports clubs at the University of Brighton. Some first sessions are trials and some are simply an open first session for you to give something a go.

You can take part in as many clubs as you like and can fit in. You only need to buy one membership which should be for the club that  requires the highest category membership. So if you do both a Bronze BUCS and Bronze Off-Site club then you just need a Bronze BUCS card. You only need to buy a membership if you are taking part in a BUCS fixture or you plan to continue to attend after the 31st October (whichever comes first). This gives you a great opportunity to try before you buy. Contact Sport Brighton if you have any questions.
