Wellbeing Cupboards

Update 2019-2020

Good news! We are very happy to announce that the wellbeing cupboard project is continuing and has taken off in such a good way better than I imagine.

Throughout the last 6month of being in post there has been a huge request from both staffs and students to include Mithras in this project. I have worked very hard on it along with many SU staffs and we are happy to say that there is now a new equipped wellbeing cupboard at Mithras house with free sanitary products, variety of condoms, panic alarm, many wellbeing mindful information booklets and leaflet from MY Time, Mind organisation and many more, pregnancy test kits. I have also worked with local companies to provide chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing kit and a free C-Card to get more free condoms at your conveniences (to collect in person).

Update 2018-2019

The Wellbeing Cupboard project took off better than I ever could have anticipated. The campaign started out as my small-scale idea to provide free sanitary items to students but quickly escalated and our five wellbeing cupboards now stock pregnancy tests, sanitary supplies, a range of contraceptives, drink spikeys, wellbeing kits, panic alarms, budget cookbooks and housing advice. Through negotiation with local companies and the hard work of many SU staff, students have accessed over £15,000 worth of products in just 8 months!
