We are aware that the cost of living crisis is having a significant impact on all students at Brighton. We are committed to supporting you during this difficult time and working with the University to reduce the pressures you are facing.

We have put together this resources page so you have all the information you need in one place.

The Pantry

We have launched The Pantry on every Brighton campus. The Pantry provides all University of Brighton students with access to FREE non-perishable food and toiletries. You can find the Pantry here:

  • City, Grand Parade - outside BSU offices

  • Falmer - Ringmer House

  • Eastbourne - Greynore

  • Moulsecoomb - outside the BSU Support office on the mezzanine floor of Cockcroft

University Hardship funds

The University has various hardship funds, bursaries and scholarships available which are open to all students.If you are struggling with money, you can speak with our confidential Student Advice Centre who can help talk you through the support available.

FREE society memberships

To ensure you get the most out of your time here, we have a launched a new scheme for 2023. Every student that attends our Refreshers Fair on 8th February will receive a FREE membership to a society of their choice. Find out more about our Refreshers Fair.

Off-campus accommodation

We are working with the Council, University and other parties to help ensure the off-campus accommodation available to you is safe and affordable. If you have a concern about your housing, check out our online advice. You can also book an appointment to speak with one of our trained advisors. 

Part-time work

If you want to find work to support your studies, we can help you. We offer a variety of positions working in our outlets and services. There is also lots of roles, support and training available at the University's Careers & Employability Service.

BSU Outlets

We have a range of great value for money food and drink options at our outlets, including our Meal Deal available at our Union Shop in Cockcroft, Moulsecoomb. Make sure you check out our regular NUS promotions in the Shop too, saving you money on your regular purchases. At The Venue, we have just launched our new menu and have lots of daily promos - follow our Insta to see the latest ways you can save. 

NUS totum card

All Brighton Students' Union members can apply for an NUS TOTUM card. This is a great discount card just for students, giving you access to amazing local and national deals for eating out, fashion, tech and more. Find out more about and get yours today.

We offer FREE advice and support for all students studying at the University of Brighton. If you have concerns about any aspect of your University life, including your academic studies or housing, we can help. We have lots of information available on our Support pages and you can also book an appointment to speak with one of our trained advisors.
