The role will be responsible for researching and securing venues, planning and managing the BSU events’ calender, generating and delivering new innovative ideas and solutions. It will also take accountability for negotiating quotes and agreements with vendors, assisting with event marketing, monitoring timeframes and budgets, networking and delivering on event brief objectives.
Experience and Knowledge.
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience of:-
- Managing and planning successful and profitable events
- Creating Risk Assessments for events and activities
- Staff management – including recruitment, performance, rotas, training, etc
- An understanding of the needs and expectations of students
- Facilitating Club Contracts.
Applicants will need to be creative with high levels of enthusiasm, self-motivation and initiative and be committed to providing an excellent service to our students. They must also share and display the Union’s core values which are: Inclusive, Approachable, Dynamic, Supportive and Transparent.
The role is being offered on a permanent full-time contract working 37 hours per week. The normal days of work will be between Monday and Friday but flexibility will be required as regular weekend/evening working will be needed.
