The Role
Our Communications Manager is going on Maternity leave and we are looking for someone to take over the reins whilst she’s away. Working as part of the BSU Management Team, the role will be responsible for managing our Communications Team and taking on some specific projects during this period such as reviewing our digital tools and applications.

Experience and Knowledge
Applicants will need to have experience of creating engaging and targeted communications for specific groups, managing and leading on successful marketing campaigns and working on multiple projects simultaneously.  In addition to this, they must have experience of managing a small team and supporting student led media channels in a professional capacity. 

The Person
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a strong leader and be a positive role model to staff and students.  Knowledge of GDPR, handling PR enquiries and media law within communications and marketing is essential.

Applicants will also need to have high levels of enthusiasm, self-motivation, initiative and be committed to providing an excellent service to our students. They must also share and display the Union’s core values which are: Inclusive, Approachable, Dynamic, Supportive and Transparent.

The Hours
The role is being offered on a permanent full time contract working 37.00 hours per week. 

The Location
Due to the current pandemic, the majority of BSU staff are predominately working off campus so the roles will initially be working from home.  In the future, the successful candidate will be based primarily at our Falmer campus.
