Brighton Students' Union is an independent, dynamic not-for-profit charity.  Our aim is to make student life better for all students studying at the University of Brighton, which we do through the provision of excellent services, facilities, support, representation and events. 

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and committed Trainee Intern Managers to join our dedicated teams in our Moulsecoomb shop and our Shop/Café-Bar in Falmer. These roles offer fantastic training opportunities for two candidates during the 2019/20 Academic Year.

The Role

To support the Line Manager in the efficient running of the outlet.  The roles are specifically designed to give the successful applicants meaningful management experience, including training opportunities such as:-

  • Fire warden training
  • First Aid
  • Food Safety
  • Customer Service
  • City College Management Course (to be completed in own time)

 

This is just an example of the training available – it can be adapted to be more specific to your own individual needs.

The Hours

These are full time positions over the contract period – 37.00 hours per week.  Flexibility with working days will be required as regular weekend/evening working will be needed.

The Person

The successful candidate will be keen to enhance their skill sets and get some practical management experience whilst training on the job.  Please note that these roles are open to current or recent University of Brighton students only - including 2019 graduates - who have no further academic commitments for the period of the contract. This role is NOT open to those planning to study in the 2019/2020 academic year – although it could potentially be suitable for those studying a Masters.
