In second place are Asian Society for NACHLE 2019 which took place this month! Student experienced Bollywood, Bhangra, Kuthu and Gaana Music, and a dhol (a drum widely used throughout the Indian subcontinent) which added an authentic Indian flare to Nachle, which the students said creating a powerful, energetic and an electric atmosphere for the crowd to enjoy all night long. Gulab Januns and Mango Lassi a desi mango milkshake, also gave students the opportunity to experience the unique and exotic taste of South Asia. The event was a great success and the President of the society reflected that they belive it helped to unite the South Asian community together and share each of their own unique cultures with the rest of the ethnically diverse population of Brighton students.
The Law Society come in at 3rd place this month with thier eagerly anticipated Law Ball which took place at the Grand Hotel. Over 100 people attended the Ball which gave everyone the chance to network and socialise. The event taught the society about event management and the importance of timings and preparation. The students used this event as an opportunity to increase their social circles and could hear first hand what life could be like after their degree.
This Valentines Day Believers Love World Society spread the love around campus with their event 'Love Limitless'. They gave out flowers and cards to remind students that the society loves and cares about them. The gifts brought bright smiles to everyone who received them.
This month Occupational Therapy Society hosted a successful Pet Therapy session. The aim of the event was to allow students the opportunity to learn more about 'pets as therapy' by talking with the volunteers of Canine Concern about their experiences, as well as receiving lots of doggie cuddles.
Love was also in the air for Ghanaian Society this month, their event Valentines Chill Night, gave everyone the chance to get together, play some games which included a bit of speed dating! They also discussed the links between Valentine day and Ghana including the Ghana production of Cocoa and chocolates for the occasion.
This Month saw Amnesty Society hosting a Puddings for Prisoners event. This events aim was to raise awareness for the Prisoners Aboard Charity through a delicious cake sale. They learnt about and how they help British Citizens who have been imprisoned Aboard and how they support them to get the supplies and legal action.
